DECLARING YOUR MAJOR

HOW TO DECLARE A MAJOR OR MINOR

APCs are the mechanism used to declare a major at PLU. Students must fill out an APC and ha
1. Make an appointment with the department chair
2. You will meet with that individual and review the requirements necessary for the major or minor, fill out an Academic Program Contract.  When meeting with the department chair it can be helpful
to bring a current copy of your transcript, especially if you have transferred credit from another institution.
3. You will be assigned to an advisor in that department by the department chair prior to declaring their major or minor.
