| Welcome to the Anthropology Club website.
Here you can find information about the club, the officers, our goals,
current and upcoming events, and our contact information. The club
isn't for anthropologist alone, for anthropology isn't a science in
itself. Anthropology happens in film, in book, in discussion, in
sociology, political science and international business. The events we
plan are meant for the PLU community to enrich the students, faculty
and the club itself. |
In addition to the events and activities we plan there is an aspect of administration. We are currently seeking motivated students whom are interested in expanding their college experience by joining the Anthropology Club as officers. More information about opportunities can be found here. |
Mission Statement: The PLU Anthropology club serves to provide the PLU community with events and insights that lead to a further understanding of anthropological thought and theory. In addition, it also aligns with the PLU ideal of a global education, combating ethnocentrism and providing venues for the expansion of cultural education.
Goals: To eliminate ethnocentrism and encourage cultural relativism in the PLU community, to encourage the asking of anthropological questions and provide opportunities for PLU community members to become involved in anthropological events and discussions.
» We have many exciting upcoming events. Please check back soon for a more detailed list of upcoming events.
» Past events we've put on this year include a demonstration by Dr. Andrews, our advisor, on stone napping and creating stone tools.
