Social Studies Vertical Teams July 14-18,
2008 Monday-Thursday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 noon For those teachers planning to attend the Pre-AP Social Studies
session can you please bring the following items (it at all possible)
1. a USB flash drive (you will use it to save information during the week) 2. a copy of your textbook(s) you use in class 3. a copy of your course syllabus (if you have prepared one) 4. one or two units or lessons you would like to work on during the week 5. if you have a laptop there is wi-fi capability at many places around the campus I am planning on scheduling computer time during the week. My goal is for you to create or tweek a lesson/unit you plan on using in the classroom this next school year. We will have a share time on Friday morning in which you will present your lesson (handouts, etc...) to the group. If you create the lesson on a folder and store it on your USB stick then it will be easy to share it with everyone on Friday. The goal is to see how your lesson/unit works with strategies that we will talk about during the session at PLU. I look forward to meeting you and working with you the week of July 14.
