Marcela Holland received BA degrees in Spanish and Microbiology, her California Secondary teaching credential and post-graduate work all at the University of California at Berkeley.
She has been a participant in the Science Teaching Program of the Lawrence Berkeley Lab; the Language Teaching Program at Hayward State College; and has been an AP* Biology and AP* Spanish Language/Literature teacher for over twenty five years. Marcela has been an AP* reader for both the Spanish Language and Literature exams for many years. She is a Spanish Consultant and has presented numerous seminars sponsored by the Western Regional Office of the College Board*. Marcela has been a Summer Institute presenter at the Stanford AP* Spanish Seminars for the past eighteen years and the Bellevue, Washington AP* Seminars for the past five years. In addition she has presented week-long seminars in Arizona, Texas, and other regions of Southern California. She has taught at the Senior High School level in the Mt.Diablo School District for the past thirty years, serving as Mentor teacher, Department chair, and AP* teacher. Marcela brings a wealth of experience from her years as an AP* Teacher. By sharing her expertise, she will provide opportunity for you to learn how to build a successful AP* program and further enhance your current teaching practices and strategies.
