The following is a list of activities happening during the 2008 AP* Summer Institute. We cordially invite you to participate in any or all events! Sunday,
July 13th:
Tuesday, July 15th: 8:30 am – 4:30 pm – AP Classes in Session 10:00 – 11:00 am - Morning Refreshments 2:00 – 3:00 pm - Afternoon Refreshments 4:30 – 6:00 pm – Social Hour. A chance to relax and visit with other AP participants. Appetizers & beverages provided) 5:00 – 9:00 pm - Van Shuttle to Ruston Way. This is your chance to see some of the sights along Commencement Bay and sample restaurants along the waterfront. 8:30 am – 4:30 pm – AP Classes in Session 10:00 – 11:00 am – Lute Lunch 11:30 am – 1:00 pm - All Campus Raspberry Festival in Centennial Square. Come enjoy a fruit dessert and live entertainment with the rest of the PLU community. 4:30 – 6:00 pm – Social Hour. A chance to relax and visit with other AP participants 5:00 – 9:00 pm - Visit Downtown Tacoma – Interesting Restaurants, Washington State History Museum, Museum of Glass, and Tacoma Art Museum. Admission to the History Museum is free, Museum of Glass is $10, and the Tacoma Art Museum is $6.50. 8:30 am – 4:30 pm – AP Classes in Session 10:00 – 11:00 am - Morning Refreshments 2:00 – 3:00 pm - Afternoon Refreshments 4:30 – 6:00 pm – Social Hour . A chance to relax and visit with other AP participants 7:00 – 9:00 pm Live Jazz Under The Stars in the PLU outdoor amphitheater and admission is free. Greg Williamson and the Pony Boy Large Ensemble will be performing and tours of PLU's observatory will be available after the concert Friday July 18th: 8:30 am – 12:00 noon. – AP Classes in Session 10:00 – 11:00 am - Morning Refreshments 12:00 noon – 2:00 pm – Check Out of South Hall. (Note: Earlier check out is available from 7:00-9:00 am)
