PLU Fastpitch Assistant Coaches

Mandy Flores-Handley, Assistant Coach

A three-time all-conference infielder who made the NFCA All-Region team her sophomore, junior and senior years at Pacific Lutheran, Mandy is in her fifth season as a PLU assistant coach.

She was named a second team All-American her sophomore year and set the school record for runs scored in a season (50). She was a two-sport star in softball and volleyball at PLU, establishing a school record for volleyball service aces in a season (77).

She is employed as a vocational rehabilitation counselor with Condon Nero Inc., and is the head volleyball coach at Rogers High School in Puyallup. Mandy is married to Shane Handley.

Lance Glasoe, Assistant Coach

Lance Glasoe, in his second year as a Pacific Lutheran fastpitch assistant coach, brings six years of high school coaching experience to the program.

Glasoe was fastpitch head coach at Sumner High School from 2001-05, and head coach at Bonney Lake High School in 2006. As the first-ever head coach at brand new Bonney Lake High, he earned Tacoma News Tribune All-Area Coach of the Year and Seamount League/Pierce Division Coach of the Year honors. He also earned all-area and league Coach of the Year recognition in 2003 and 2005 while at Sumner High School. In his six seasons at the prep level, Glasoe coached three state tournament teams, two league most valuable pitchers and two league most valuable players.

Glasoe, a 1995 graduate of Western Washington University, is working on a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Seattle Pacific University. He is a technology education teacher at Graham-Kapowsin High School.

Liz Stuhlmiller, Assistant Coach

A two-time first team All-Northwest Conference outfielder for Pacific Lutheran, Liz Stuhlmiller is in her second season as a Lute fastpitch assistant coach.

Stuhlmiller is an example of the adage that hard work pays off. As a PLU freshman Stuhlmiller was cut from the team, but given a second chance became the team’s top pinch runner in 2003. Stuhlmiller continued to work on her game and by her junior year was a starting outfielder. She earned first team All-Northwest Conference honors in both 2005 and 2006. Last season she hit .398, led the Lutes with 34 runs, and also stole 17 bases.

Stuhlmiller graduated in May 2006 with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. She has been accepted as a student in the first-ever class at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, which opens its doors in August 2008 in Yakima, Wash.
