Pacific Lutheran Breaks Into Volleyball
Top 25
Pacific Lutheran, in the midst of a nine-match winning streak,
has broken into the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA)
Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll for the first time this season.
The Lutes, 14-4 this year, are ranked No. 23 in the poll released
today.
After starting the season 5-4, PLU has been on a roll, including
eight straight Northwest Conference wins. Included in that number
is a five-game victory last Friday at Linfield, which dropped
four spots from No. 6 to No. 10 in this week’s poll. Linfield
and Pacific Lutheran are the only Northwest Conference schools
in the Top 25 poll.
After road matches last weekend against Linfield and George Fox,
the Lutes play their next three matches at home. They entertain
Pacific on Friday and Lewis & Clark on Saturday, and then
take on rival Puget Sound on Wednesday, Oct. 18. All three matches
start at 7 p.m. at Olson Auditorium.
