Pacific Lutheran Now No. 21 in AVCA Top
25
Pacific Lutheran has moved up two spots in the American Volleyball
Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Top 25 Coaches Poll. The
Lutes, ranked No. 23 last week, are No. 21 in this week's version
of the AVCA rankings.
After starting the season 5-4, PLU has been on a roll. The Lutes
have won 11 consecutive matches, including 10 straight in the
Northwest conference. Included in that number is a five-game victory
at Linfield, which has fallen from No. 6 to No. 15 over the last
two weeks after losses to PLU and Whitman. Linfield and Pacific
Lutheran are the only Northwest Conference schools in the Top
25 poll.
The Lutes take on rival Puget Sound on Wednesday, Oct. 18. PLU
and UPS have already split matches this year, the Loggers winning
in five games on Sept. 3 and the Lutes returning the favor with
a four-game win on Sept. 20. Both of those matches were played
at the UPS fieldhouse.
