McGinn, Di Maggio Earn All-Region Recognition

Di Maggio (Olympia, Wash. / Tumwater HS) have earned
2006 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-West Region
honors.
McGinn and Di Maggio have led Pacific Lutheran to a 20-6 record
and into the NCAA Division III national tournament. The Lutes
meet sixth-seeded University of Redlands today in the West Region
tournament in La Verne, Calif. The Lutes, seeded third in the
West Region tournament, were co-champions of the Northwest Conference
with Linfield College.
McGinn, named the 2006 Northwest Conference Player of the Year,
led the Lutes in kills (387), attack attempts (1145), service
aces (41), and blocks (87). She also finished second on the team
in kills per game (4.03) and third in digs per game (3.52). She
earned AVCA West Region honorable mention recognition in 2005.
Di Maggio directed a PLU offense that posted a .177 hitting percentage.
A first team All-Northwest Conference pick, she averaged 10.99
assists per game and compiled 50 total blocks, an average of 0.54
per game. She was named the AVCA West Region Freshman Player of
the Year and was a first team all-region selection following the
2004 season.
