Buitrago and Greenman Make All-NWC Team

When the 2007 All-Northwest Conference Women’s Soccer Teams were announced yesterday it gave the Lute faithful something to be happy about in a season that was filled with injury and frustration. Two Lutes, Melissa Buitrago and Bré Greenman earned All-NWC honors.

Senior midfielder Melissa Buitrago was named to the second team in her final season.
“It was nice to have Melissa recognized in her senior year,” said first year head coach Lynnette Buffington. “She’s been a big part of the program the last four seasons.” Buitrago scored a team high four goals and assisted in three others.

Defender Greenman was given honorable mention honors for her work in the PLU defense. The junior out of Corvallis, Ore., started and played in every game for the Lutes this season.

Pacific Lutheran ended the year at 5-13-2, including a 4-11-1 record in the NWC, good for seventh place.
