Preparing for your internship search Looking for an internship is similar to the job hunting process you will do before graduation. Before starting your internship search you should have your resume and the framework for a cover letter developed, professional interview apparel selected, practiced interview techniques and have a fairly clear idea of what type of internship you hope to pursue. Your Business faculty can be a terrific resource when trying to decide what type of internship you would most benefit from and what companies you might consider. Your faculty adviser may be willing to serve as your internship sponsor once you have landed an internship. Resources for finding available internships
Earning academic credit for your internship Business students can earn credit for their internship through our department or through Academic Internships. Those who hope to use their internship toward their BBA degree requirements should apply for departmental credit. You can earn up to four Business internship credits but only three credits will apply toward your concentration requirements. Registration for internship credit is a paper process. You cannot register for an internship on BannerWeb. Once you have accepted an internship you will need to meet with your faculty adviser to complete the appropriate registration paperwork and complete the documentation requirements to ensure you receive academic credit. In order to register please must complete a Student Learning Agreement and a pink Independent Study Registration card which you can request from Juanita Reed in the School of Business. Once you have obtained your employer and faculty advisor’s signatures, submit to Juanita Reed, Undergraduate Coordinator, for processing of departmental approval. |
