NEWSThe Career Mentorship Program: connecting students and alumniThis fall marks a new phase of the PLU School of Business Career Mentorship Program. PLU Business Network board member Jason Rubottom (BBA ’00) has spent the summer revamping the program and updating the mentor database. “The ultimate goal of the career mentorship program is for students to better understand what career options are out there, discover what's best for them, and learn how they can go about achieving that,” Rubottom said. Alumni have enjoyed making a lasting impact on students through this program by sharing their unique insights across a wide variety of industries. As mentors, alumni can contribute in whatever way suits them best, including informational interviews, classroom discussions, or even job shadowing. Rubottom’s passion for the program comes from person experience. “I benefited from this program as a student, gaining absolutely critical (and new) insight about where I wanted to go after college, which resulted in the best career move I've made so far. I wouldn't have made that decision without the mentorship I received from alumni at the time.” The School of Business faculty and staff, along with the PLU Business Network, encourage School of Business students, past and present, to participate.
