Congratulations to the 2007 Washington Family Business Award winners

George Bartell Since 1994, Pacific Lutheran University has been committed to supporting local, family-owned business and promoting family enterprise within the Pacific Northwest. This year five Northwest family-owned businesses were selected from 14 finalists. This annual event is sponsored by the Family Enterprise Institute at Pacific Lutheran University’s School of Business. Winners this year include Dynamic Language Centers, small business; Air Van, medium business; RD Merrill & Merrill Gardens, large business; Hama Hama Co., heritage business; Real Estate Marketplace NW, Inc., new business.
This year’s keynote speaker was George Bartell (pictured above), chairman and chief executive officer of Bartell Drugs. Bartell Drugs is the oldest family-owned drugstore chain in the US.
