Chocolate 101: The Roller Coaster of a Start-Up

Speaker: Jason Wing, Cocoa Pete’s (PLU MBA ’02)
Jason Wing (PLU MBA ’02) will share the secrets of chocolate and the
“serious rollercoaster ride” of a start up company. Wing will
share how he became involved with this start up and the horizon of the
chocolate biz. Cocoa Pete’s was created by Pete Slosberg (also
the founder of Pete’s Wicked Ale) who felt “It’s everyone’s right to
enjoy great chocolate…any day-anytime!”

Speaker: Darren Hamby, VP of HR at ZymoGenetics, Inc.
Darren Hamby (PLU BBA, MBA ‘92), vice president of human resources at
ZymoGenetics, Inc., will present on the current business regulatory
environment and its impact on HR practices in the real world.
Topics will include the climate of base pay & incentive pay
management; cost management of employee benefits; organizational change
and the impact of new technology on human resources.
