Thirteen PLU students, including nine from the School of Business, spent last fall semester 2006 studying at Sichuan University in Chengdu, Sichuan, a province of China.

School of Business professor Thad Barnowe served as the PLU Site Director for the semester program. This was the first time that a School of Business faculty member had been the on-site faculty leader, resulting in the recruitment of business students to participate.

PLU Golf Charity Event

The 1st Annual 2007 PLU Golf Charity Event go toward raising funds for two charities.  Half of all proceeds will go to the PLU MBA Student Advisory Committee's partnership with the Helping Hand House and their Adopt-a-Family program during the holidays.  The other half will go toward purchasing gifts for wounded soldiers at the Seattle VA that will be delivered in person on Christmas morning.  The "modified best-ball" event will have some relaxed and fun rules, such as the ability to buy options like a bogie or double-bogie against the team in front or behind, or a drive, birdie, eagle, mulligan, and other fun options designed to raise the most funds possible while having a good time!

QuickTip

Be the Talk of the Town

Have you ever noticed that engaging in conversation topics other than your general trade of business tends to link people faster together?  Work off of your resume - from the "Interest and Activities" section - and keep your ears open for any common interests you might have with your fellow social networkers. Or - you can never go wrong with a major sporting event. If you didn't catch the game last night then be sure to at least skim through the articles before heading to the event.   Show them that you are more than just a business wiz!
