Dr. Andy Turner is

Changing the Game

Tacoma Road Show

It's a bold statement.  Andy Turner wants to change the way the School of Business has been "doing business."  In a five-stop road show series entitled "Changing the Game," Dr. Turner unveiled his vision for the next 10 years and the steps he will take as the new Dean to make the PLU School of Business the top small business school in the West.  "I don't want to be the best small Lutheran school in the Northwest, or even the West coast.  I just want to be the best.  I think we can do it."  Turner defines best as producing the best graduates--students who are sought after by employers, accepted into the best graduate programs, are cross-disciplinary in approaching unstructured problems and are successful in their field of choice.

Turner, with the full support of the PLU administration, has six primary objectives to achieving his goal.   Among those objectives are creating two or three new areas of academic excellence that are untapped by other leading business programs such as services marketing, creating one to two enterprise centers for research and consulting, raising funds for endowed chairs, and recruiting new dynamic faculty to replace those who will retire over the next two years.

The Changing the Game events concluded with a call to action for alums to get involved.  "This is an exciting vision delivered by our Dean and a pivotal time in the School's history.  The School of Business needs our support," Todd Ostrander  (BBA '86) said in closing at the Pyramid Brewery PLUS Business.
