Webmail Security

Off-Campus Webmail Users

Due to a number of security and spam issues related to compromised ePass accounts over the last several days I&TS is deploying a new security mechanism on Webmail.  Beginning immediately, off-campus users will be presented with an additional security check known as a CAPTCHA challenge, in addition to your ePass username and password.

The challenge consists of a prompt to decipher two words that are randomly selected and presented in a slightly distorted manner.  After supplying your ePass credentials you will fill in the third field with the two words you see displayed, making sure that you put a space in between the words, and continue the login process normally.  In the event the words are not clear enough to decipher you can select the top button to "Get a New Challenge".  Alternately, you can select the second button to listen to an audio challenge that consists of a series of spoken numbers with some background noise.
