RN Re-Entry to Practice

RN Re-Entry to Practice Program

  • Are you interested in returning to active nursing practice?
  • Do you have an active Washington RN license without encumbrance or disciplinary action?

If your answer is "Yes" to these questions PLU Continuing Nursing Education has a program that may help you return to active practice.

We are offering an RN Re-Entry into Practice program. This program combines self-directed independent study with supervised laboratory and clinical experience to bring nurses up-to-date on the latest care techniques. It is designed to provide nurses with an update of theoretical content and clinical practice needed to return to employment in nursing with adult medical surgical patients in either a long-term/extended or acute care setting. Nursing procedures common to adult (adolescent to elderly) acute and long-term care will be reviewed and practiced by participants in skill laboratory setting before beginning the clinical experience.

Pacific Lutheran University partners with Franciscan Health System and MultiCare Health System to actively recruit and train registered nurses who have left the workforce. These agencies will hire nurses who want to return to work now. If you are interested in employment with one of these agencies, plus reimbursement for this program, please contact the agency directly.
