All are welcome!

Campus Ministry provides opportunities and a safe place for the PLU community to explore issues of faith and spirituality, to ask and wrestle with big questions of life, to integrate faith and learning, to create a community of support and service to others and to the earth.  It is our belief that everyone has a place and a purpose in the PLU community.  We welcome you to join in!

Our History

Pacific Lutheran University was founded in 1890 by a group of mostly Norwegian Lutherans from the Puget Sound area. In naming the university, these pioneers recognized the important role that a Lutheran educational institution on the western frontier of America could play in the emerging future of the region. Education—and educating for service—was a venerated part of the Scandinavian traditions from which these pioneers came.

PLU has been closely and productively affiliated with the Lutheran church throughout its history. It is now a university of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, owned by the more than six hundred congregations of Region 1 of the ELCA.

Important Upcoming Events

Interested in ministry?  Looking for more ELCA education?  On October 18, 19, and 20, we welcome representatives from the ELCA Seminaries.  They will join us for The Cross Worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, University Congregation, and Chapel.  They will also host a lunch at Farrelli's for those interested.  Please RSVP to Kyle Franklin by October 16 to reserve your spot at lunch.

Do you love Luther?  Join us on Monday, October 27 from 7:00-9:00 PM in the Cave for an evening of Reformation Celebration.  This year, there will be many activities, including "A Mighty Fortress" building contest, Reformation Wheel-of-Fortune, and a Diet of Worms cake.  All are welcome!  We're gonna party like it's 1517!
