The Digital Media Center offers workshops on a variety of topics related to the supported software of the lab. Class or small-group workshops can be arranged to cover basic tasks, complex functions, advanced theory, or anywhere in between.

Sakai Overview Workshop

Use the Sakai learning management system to quickly setup a course web site. Hands-on activities will include developing a syllabus, adding announcements, creating discussion groups, and posting Office documents. Intended for faculty and staff.

Sakai Collaboration Tools

Use the Sakai learning management system to facilitate communication and collaboration among students or workgroups. This workshop will focus on hands-on activities with: Message Center, Email Archives, Discussion Board, Chat, Drop Box, and Wiki. Intended for faculty and staff. 

Getting Started with Podcasting

Interested in finding out what it takes to integrate podcasts/vodcasts into your courses? This session will provide an overview of tools and processes for creating podcasts and distributing them via the Sakai system. Intended for faculty and staff.  

Uedit In and Out

Create, manage, edit and publish PLU websites with an online tool accessible from anywhere with Mozilla and a PLU ePass. Workshops scheduled as requested.

Digital Portfolios with Uedit

Create, manage, edit, and publish digital portfolios using the web-based Uedit program. Workshops scheduled as requested.

Making Movies in Premiere

Learn how to capture, edit, and export videos using Adobe Premiere. This workshop will focus on technical requirements of editing video, how to work with different media, and burning and authoring DVDs. Workshops scheduled as requested.

Photo Enhancement in Photoshop

Learn how to crop, rotate, color enhance, and light correct your digital photographs using Adobe Photoshop CS. After the basics, we'll move on to artistic filters, fun with layers, and the liquify tool. Workshops scheduled as requested.

Basics of Flash

In this workshop, we'll cover the Flash toolset, keyframing, and basic actionscripting. For groups of five or less only. Workshops scheduled as requested.

Computer DJ: Making a Music Mix in Audition

This workshop will show you how to seamlessly transition together songs using a variety of effects technique, editing tools, and creative flare. Please prepare four songs to mix together using Adobe Audition. Workshops available as requested.ingur Publications with InDesign Walk
