FINDING ARTICLES IN PERIODICALS/JOURNALS:  Periodical indexes provide the most efficient subject access to journals, magazines, and newspapers.  Indexes relevant to your topic include:

ERIC (via PLU Library Website) Indexes and abstracts articles, books, theses, conference proceedings, and unpublished papers (ERIC documents) in education, 1967 to present. Some full text is available for selected journals when searching simultaneously with the Academic Search Elite database.

E*Subscribe (via PLU Library Website)  Offers ERIC documents in full text (.pdf file format) from 1996 to the present. Use the Express Search option to search by known ED (ERIC document) number. When searching for information on education and related topics in journals and documents, search ERIC (see listing above) and follow the links to EDRS (E*Subscribe) for the full text.

Education Index (via PLU Library Website)  Indexes 400 education periodicals from 1983 to present. Some abstracts are included.

EBSCO (via PLU Library Website)  An index of about 3000 journals, 1000 of them available full-text.  It covers a wide range of topics.

ProQuest (via PLU Library Web site)  This is a family of databases that cover many topics.  Many full-text journal articles are included.

LOCATING PERIODICALS/JOURNALS: Use Journals at PLU to obtain the call number of the journal you need.  Current issues of journals are shelved on the first floor.  Older issues (bound volumes and microfilm) are on the second and third floors, shelved with the books. Journals at PLU also identifies any full-text online journals PLU has available.
