The Environmental Studies program is administered by a committee of PLU faculty representing a wide range of disciplines in the College of Arts and Sciences and the professional schools. These faculty are also regular Environmental Studies instructors.

Chuck Bergman, Professor of English (Ph.D., University of Minnesota), teaches environmental literature and creative nonfiction. He specializes in writing about wildlife issues. Duncan Foley, Professor of Geosciences (Ph.D., Ohio State University), teaches courses which emphasize the relationships of people with their natural environment, including water supply, water pollution, human use of land and resources, and geologic hazards. Rose McKenney, Assistant Professor of Geoscience and Environmental Studies (Ph.D., Pennsylvania State University) teaches geomorphology and environmental studies methods. Her interests include science education and curriculum development, fluvial processes and aquatic habitat, and water sustainability in the built environment. William R. Teska, Professor of Biology (Ph.D., Michigan State University). His professional interests are conservation and sustainable development, population ecology of small mammals, reptiles and amphibians, ecology of high Andean habitats and international education.
