Community Garden

"We are not the food we eat, we are the food we grow" - R. W. Emerson

PLU's Women's Center is host to our community garden.  Food is not just grown, indeed, it spends most of its time being grown.  Knowing where your food comes from and being a part of that process is not only important personally but logistically.  It means reducing the energy it takes to get your food from the plant to your table.  Also, involving yourself in growing food is a great way to organize communities because food is something everyone has in common.  The community garden at PLU is a grass-roots initiative both in terms of sustainability and community involvement.  We hope it will offer an example of PLU's investment in Parkland
