The purpose of PLU's Community Garden is to reunite people with the process of growing food, connect PLU members and Parkland residents, provide food for low-income families, get dirty and have fun doing it!
The garden is located on 121st Street, just east of the intersection with 8th Avenue. It is across the street from the Ingram Art Building behind a long wooden fence.
We have a 10,000ft.2 lot, with vegetable beds, a greenhouse, compost bins, and fruit trees. The soil is full of hard work, laughter, sun, rain, worms, rocks, heart, and hope. It has been graced by the many hands that have touched it, and are waiting for yours to join the incredible experience!
Are you a student with service learning hours to fulfill? Already know about gardening or an individual interested in learning more about gardening? Want to get your hands dirty? Have a good time and laugh with some crazy folks? Come join us!
We have work parties every Sunday from 12-3pm!
You can also join us at our Garden Club meetings on Tuesdays at 8pm in the University Commons, room 134.
Hope to see you there!
