General Description
Manage information in both database and physical record form and assist
others in the recruitment, admission, and progression of students.
Reports to the Dean of Nursing.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities
Communications:
- Answer inquiries and provide information to public and applicants to the School’s programs.
- Provide Recruitment, Admission, and Advising Director and Dean with inquiry and applicant databases as requested.
- Interact with faculty, staff, administration, and public in a professional manner that positively represents the University and its School of Nursing.
- Address problems, needs and potential issues in a timely manner with the Office Manager, Recruitment, Admission, and Advising Director and Dean.
- Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of students, applicants, and others.
- Provide general office support as directed by the office manager.
Database Management:
- Monitor/maintain inquiries, applications, applicant database, student databases, and alumni database to be comprehensive, current, and correct.
- Execute follow-ups to databases when needed and share information with others as directed.
- Assist in assuring records are filed in a timely manner and correctly, as well as protected from inappropriate exposure, loss or destruction.
Application, Record and Database Review:
- Assist Recruitment, Admission, and Advising Director with review of transcripts/applications.
- Serve on the Recruitment, Admissions, and Progression Committee in the event that the Recruitment, Admission, and Advising Director is unavailable.
- Provide academic and demographic profiles of applicants, students and graduates for reports and surveys.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision with close attention to detail.
- Ability to complete tasks in a timely, effective manner and meet deadlines.
- Cooperative, supportive attitude towards work and people.
- Proficiency in keyboarding. Strong proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Knowledge of computer applications to include, but not limited to, MS Office, including: Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint programs.
Required Qualifications
- Two years job-related work experience. Related education may substitute for some experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Finalist candidates must satisfactorily complete pre-employment background checks.
