Couple & Family Therapy Center

Charlie Cheryl SupAfter a full year in MFT Program classes, including the Ethics course offered in the summer, you are eligible to begin your practica. You will be trained to work in the PLU Couple & Family Therapy Center--right here in our academic building! During New Therapist Orientation, you will receive valuable information and learn important skills prior to calling your first clients to set up your first appointments.

You have a lot of support here...

Most likely, you will be assigned a co-therapist for your first semester practicuum. This will be a partner with whom you are already familiar from your classes. Together, you will meet with clients and with your supervisor on a weekly basis. During supervision time, you will go over your cases, receive constructive criticism, suggestions and have an open time to share your joys and concerns about how it's going as a new therapist.
