Tingelstad Remodel

The Tingelstad Hall renovation was completed on August 26, 2007.  The residence hall, which was originally built in 1967, received its largest remodel to date.

Planning and Construction Process


Tingelstad, Remodeled

Tingelstad Hall was started in May 2007 and finished August 26, 2007, and the renovations included:

  • New double pane thermal glass windows throughout the building.
  • A complete building sprinkler system for fire safety
  • New resident room heaters
  • New first floor common spaces
  • New exterior lighting
  • New floor tiles in student rooms
  • New recycled and recyclable carpet in hallways and common rooms
  • Low flow plumbing and dual flush toilets throughout the building
  • New furniture for rooms and lounges
  • New mailboxes
  • New paint

Planning and Construction Process

The Tingelstad Hall remodel was overseen by John Kaniss, PLU Construction Management, working with Facilities Management and Finance and Operations.

From October 2006 to January 2007, Mithun, project architect, worked with PLU to design the plans. Pease Construction began construction in May 2007.

The project was completed August 26, 2007.
