About My Portfolio

Blank PageI began thinking about my portfolio without a clear template or organizational structure defined for me. I had hoped to find a template that would almost meet my needs and then make slight modifications to make it work. Instead, after much analysis, I developed a set core values and  competencies which I considered key requirements for my position. I put these in context of the format developed by Thom Sepic for the School of Business: Core Values, Competencies, Attributes, and Outcomes. I then developed and filled in what I considered to be the most important competencies of my position in the Digital Media Center. Self Reflection
I began laying out my web pages in uEdit based on a Z-diagram of the relationships among my curriculum vitae and digital portfolio. I found the whole process to be very time-consuming, but rewarding and worthwhile as a self-reflection and assessment of what I do.

Digital Media Center Mission

I frame my portfolio around multimedia competencies and our DMC mission:
  • To assist faculty, staff, and students in developing digital media and web resources
  • To provide training and support for using digital media tools in teaching and learning
  • To provide tools and services for creating, capturing, processing, and producing original digital media content
  • To foster and enhance continuous learning environments to keep pace with changing technologies

Institutional Context

"Supporting Teaching and Learning with Technology"

I frame my portfolio in context of competencies needed to support the broader institutional vision, mission statements, and strategic plans such as:
