Family Nurse Practitioner

The MSN Family Nurse Practitioner concentration is focused on client-centered clinical practice. This primary care concentration will prepare you to:

  • respond to the needs of today's and tomorrow's health care consumers
  • manage direct care based on advanced assessment and diagnostic reasoning
  • incorporate health promotion and disease prevention into health care delivery
  • realize your potential for professional growth, responsibility and autonomy.

Successful completion of the MSN degree in the Family Nurse Practitioner concentration will qualify you to sit for the National Nurse Practitioner certifying examination. This will qualify you under Washington state law for Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) licensure and to apply for Washington state Prescriptive Authority.

Designed for working professionals, our Masters Degree programs offer evening and Friday classes. Students may complete the MSN program in 4 full-time semesters, or opt to begin the program sequence on a part time basis. Because of ARNP certifying examination requirements, the last two semesters must be taken on a full time basis.
