Basic Program Sequence / Curriculum:
Other Program Requirements
The Basic BSN program is designed for students with no previous
prepartion in nursing and requires a total of four academic years; one
year in the completion of prerequisite courses and three years in
nursing courses. Under the direct supervision of its faculty members,
the School of Nursing uses the facilities of large hospitals, health
agencies and schools in the community to provide optimal clinical
learning experiences for students. Part-time, full-time, and transfer
options are available.
Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree and are
eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN examination for licensure as
registered nurses in Washington state. They are prepared for first-level staff nursing
positions in hospitals, clinics, the military, long term care
facilities and community health agencies, with potential for rapid
advancement and assumption of leadership roles. They also have the
basis to pursue graduate study in nursing.
