Tai Chi

For Fall 2008 we continue with our sessions, each Tuesday, 12:10-12:50.

All are welcome, whether you are one of the regulars, someone who has not attended in a while, or someone just starting.  People start showing up at noon for a little stretching and movement.  All are invited to bring a bamboo pole, 5 feet or so in length, or long broom handle, something with which to do some movement exercises.

We do not have assigned meeting places for September 9, 16, 23, October 14, 28, November 11.  If you know of something on upper campus that will serve, please let us know.

DURING GOOD WEATHER WE MEET ON THE LARGE LAWN BETWEEN ADMIN AND EASTVOLD.

Our assigned meeting places:

September 30 Regency Room

October 7 Regency Room

October 21 in CK East

November 4 Regency Room

November 18 Regency Room

November 25 Regency Room

December 2 Regency Room

December 9 Regency Room

The class focuses on the Traditional Yang Style 24 form.  Here is a list of the 24 postures.  Here is the form gracefully and athletically performed.  (Note: this person is a Cirque du Soleil level athlete, and no one in our class bends that low or kicks that high.  But it is something to see.)

People interested in tai chi classes are invited to check out the Tai Chi Qigong Wellness Center, in Tacoma.  Monday nights I teach a class on the 24 form.  Students should be able to learn the 24 form and some details of movement over two five week courses, which begin Sept. 15.
