Career, Internship, & Graduate Program Fair March 7 - 8, 2007
Career Development is dedicated to helping students navigate the career development process. To facilitate in career discovery, each semester the offices of Career Development and Academic Internships/Cooperative Education coordinate a Career, Internship, & Graduate Program Fair. This spring the fair is in the University Center from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on March 7th and 8th.
The fair has grown to a two-day event connecting Pacific Lutheran students with potential employers, internship providers, or graduate schools. Having the fair on-campus makes networking with a potential employer convenient and less intimidating; the time spent networking at the fair may result in job leads or even a job offer.
Different types of employers are invited to participate on each day of the fair. The groups featured on March 7th are business and private corporations, hospitals and health care providers, and the military. Also, on March 7th from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. there will be a School District Fair for students preparing for careers in education. The groups featured on March 8th are non-profits, state and government agencies, and graduate programs. The Career Development website has detailed information about who will be attending the fair each day.
In preparation for the fair the offices of Career Development and Academic Internships/Cooperative Education coordinate a number of skill building workshops and events. Students can learn how to write an effective resume, interview like a pro, and develop a strategy for presenting themselves to employers at the fair.
A complete list of opportunities and tips for preparing for the fair are available on the Career Development website.
The departments that comprise the Ramstad Commons support students in
their academic pursuits and foster their exploration of personal and
vocational identity in the context of their lives and communities.
