University Dance Ensemble presents "Dance 2008"
The Pacific Lutheran University Dance Ensemble presents Dance 2008 on April 11th & 12th at 8:00pm in Eastvold Auditorium. Dance Ensemble is a student performance that consists of pieces choreographed by students, staff members and a guest choreographer.
This year student choreographers Jenna Calhoun, Maurice Eckstein, Clare Edgerton, Liz Erie, Justin Juertas, Elizabeth Long, Kristen Martensen, Rachel McWilliams, Dmitry Mikheyev and Rebecca Sharp have been chosen to teach 50 student performers their original works in jazz, hip hop, ballet and modern dance.
Along with sharing her talents in Choreography, PLU Dance Team Director and alumna Tara Holliday will provide direction for these student choreographers. Maureen McGill, Associate Professor of Dance and Theatre at PLU, is also creating a dance to an original composition by composer Ron Fein.
Special guest choreographer Amy Weaver, Cornish College of the Arts alumna and Artistic Director of the Weaving Dance Company, is setting her work on selected members of the ensemble.
Tickets for Dance 2008 will be available at the University Center information desk (253-535-7411) after March 20th. Tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for the PLU Community, Students, Seniors and Children. Tickets are also available at the door on the night of the performance.
