On
January 19-20th, first-year students will be in for a treat with the
third annual EXPLORE! retreat at Camp Berachah: Auburn, WA. We hope you'll encourage your first-year student to register starting October 30th.
This PLU tradition is a unique opportunity to connect with staff and
faculty in an off-campus retreat type setting. This retreat is about making s’mores around
the campfire, having conversations that matter, and starting to EXPLORE what we
are called to do with this "one wild and precious life".
As a part of the Wild Hope Project, the EXPLORE! Retreat has been
designed to improve the quality of student reflection on the notion of
vocation. At PLU, vocation is the intersection of one's talents,
inclinations, and choices with the needs of the world. Reflection on
vocation involves situating educational and life choices within the
frame of broader questions of meaning and purpose. EXPLORE!
facilitators help students identify those big questions in their lives
while also sharing about their own journey.
This event is free! However, spots are limited.
Registration for EXPLORE! begins October 30th. Please contact the
office of Student Involvement and Leadership directly with questions
and get more information about how your first-year student can get signed up: (253) 535-7195.
