As the 2006-2007 academic year draws to a close--the Alumni and Parent Relations team would like to thank the families of our students for sharing your student with the PLU community this past year.
The Office of Alumni and Parent Relations considers each and every student to be an "alumni in training" and we have looked for ways to connect with your student--be they a first year student or a graduating senior-- throughout the year. We do that with the help of the Student Alumni Association (SAA)--whose mission is to Raise Loyal Lutes or Lutes for Life by providing programs that instill within our students the idea that their involvement with the university can and should be mutually beneficial--and thus a lifelong commitment. This past year, SAA provided various types of support and encouragement to groups such as athletic teams and music ensembles; threw a Legacy Picnic for students whose parent(s) also attended PLU; sponsored a PLU History Week-full of activities; organized a career mentoring dinner for PLU students and alumni-called "Tables for Eight" and hosted a "Senior Disorientation" for seniors to give them helpful tips for entry into their next phase of life.

If your student is returning to PLU next fall--please be sure that the dates for Family Weekend (November 2-4) are on your calendar and make plans to join us. It is a wonderful time to visit the campus each year. If your student is graduating--please accept our most heartfelt congratulations.
We look forward to continuing our relationship with you--parents and past parents alike! Please know that once a LUTE, always a LUTE--and consider yourself invited to be a lifetime member of the PLU family!
GO LUTES!
