No, we aren’t talking about the New Year. It will soon be time to re-apply for financial aid for the 2008-2009 academic year. The Free Application For Federal Student aid (FAFSA) web site is now available for families to submit their FAFSA for the 2008-2009 academic year (which includes summer term)!
If you have a student returning to PLU next year (or considering graduate school), be sure to file your FAFSA as early as possible. Although the PLU financial aid priority funding deadline for returning students isn’t until April 1, we encourage all students, especially those for whom attending PLU is fully dependent upon financial aid, to apply as soon as possible. Remember that you can estimate your 2007 income on the FAFSA in order to make the deadline and correct the information after you file your federal taxes. A late application, however, is always late, whether the information is accurate or not.
Look for our annual Financial Aid Newsletter to Continuing Students to be posted on the PLU website sometime next month. It will provide important information about the application process, announce any changes affecting the financial aid programs, and give families a heads-up on what can be expected for the 2008-2009 financial aid awarding cycle
