
Getting Involved in Student Leadership
It
is a well-known fact that students who get involved during college,
have a more positive overall college experience. Spring semester is the
time to apply for 2007-2008 student leadership positions all across
campus. Emails are below for more information!

January:
Resident Assistant
The primary resource for students in the residence halls, RAs build
community, plan events, and ensure the best on-campus living experience possible. rlif@plu.edu
Student Involvement & Leadership Intern SIL Interns are responsible for creating
campus life at PLU, especially during late weekend nights. They plan dances, casino nights, trips and
more. sil@plu.edu
Diversity Advocate
The Diversity Center bring together people and ideas to celebrate our
shared human experience while exploring, affirming, and enriching dignity and
diversity in our community. Diversity
Advocates are the students who make the Diversity Center a great place to be! dcenter@plu.edu
Sojourner Advocate
Offering peer support to students preparing for or returning from
study away experience, Sojourner Advocates work for the Wang Center for International Programs to help make these
transitions seamless. wangctr@plu.edu
Leadership Fellow
Fellows either work with emerging leaders on
campus to enhance students’ experience or serve tutors and mentors for urban
youth in the Tacoma community. sil@plu.edu

opportunities in the community. The

Campus Ministry Intern From student programming to assisting in worship, Campus
Ministry Interns provide support and student creativity to the spiritual life
on the PLU campus. cmin@plu.edu
University Congregation Council (volunteer position) University
Congregation is only one of two student run church in all of the ELCA. U Cong
Council oversees the planning and implementation of weekly on-campus church
services as well as an annual spring break service trip. cmin@plu.edu
Residence Hall Association (elected) RHA serves as a campus wide leadership
board for educational, social and spiritual programming that takes place in the
residence halls. rha@plu.edu
Residence Hall Council (elected): From homecoming
and holiday parties to all campus events, student leaders in each of the halls
on campus provide a unique dimension to each of the halls! rha@plu.edu
ASPLU (Student Government) Elections The ASPLU President and Vice President are
integral to the student experience. In addition to running a large organization
with several student leaders, ASPLU executives serve as a strong bridge between
the student body and the PLU staff and faculty. asplu@plu.edu
ASPLU Directors From planning large programs and outdoor recreation trips to
supporting diversity-related clubs and off campus students, ASPLU directors
serve as an important component of the offerings on the PLU campus. asplu@plu.edu
ASPLU Senators (elected) This voluntary position speaks on behalf of
students throughout the campus. Senators serve by networking with the student
body and carrying out initiatives to support various student populations. asplu@plu.edu
