Breaking the Silence

Breaking the Silence" — Breaking the Silence is an NGO of young soldiers from the
Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) created upon their return from three years in Occupied
Hebron. Avichay Sharon and Noam Chayut will make a short slide presentation and
discuss life in the Occupied Territories.

"We feel that service in the occupied territories and the incidents that we faced have
distorted and harmed the moral values on which we grew up. This reality has stayed with
us and will not go away. We shouldn't forget what we ourselves did and what we
witnessed. We decided to break the silence."*
