![]() During the 05-06 season, PLU gained a new coach and a very strong incoming class, with returning captain Emily Bruce. Under the direction of Gillian Boice, the team did the best it has ever done in history. The PLU Women's lacrosse team beat University of Washington for the first time in history. Over the course of the season our lady lutes beat Gonzaga, Willamette, Boise State, University of Washington, Lewis and Clark, Central Washington University, Whitman, and Oregon State to name a few. The women's team suffered two regular season losses to University of Oregon, and University of Washington. The Pacific Lutheran University women’s lacrosse team finished with an overall winning record. The Lutes ended fourth in regular season play. At the League Championships in Eugene Oregon, the Lutes beat Whitman to advance into the semi-finals. During semi-finals the Lutes pulled a miraculous win against University of Washington, Heather Brook scoring the winning goal in the last few minutes of regular time. The Lutes were defeated by the Ducks and fell short of one victory away from the national tournament. However the Lutes proved to be one of the top competitors in the league. |
NWWLA All Stars Emily Bruce Cellen Coakley Courtney Stringer
Emily Bruce, Cellen Coakley, and Courtney Stringer were named League All Stars and were invited to play in the All Star game at Lewis and Clark. During the All-Star game, both Emily and Courtney combined scored five of the seven overall goals, enabling the North to beat the South. While Cellen Coakley had over 20 saves. |
