Faculty Affairs Committee Meeting Minutes

April 18, 2006

Present: A. Leon-Guerrero, R. Kaufman, D. Harney, R. McKenney, A. Batten

Business:

1. FAC Minutes of April 4th were reviewed without changes.
2. Committee Reports: Rose presented some information from the Budget Advisory Committee. FAC discussed how in the future, it would be good to have the FAC representatives in a minimum 2 year position on the Budget and Benefits committees for continuity.
3. FAC Survey: FAC discussed some of the survey results. The survey had close to a 57% response rate.
4. Memo from faculty member regarding salary adjustments. FAC discussed the memo and drafted a response.
5. Independent Studies: This will be our primary agenda item for our next meeting.
6. Visit with Paul Aslanian. FAC met with Paul Aslanian to discuss his report to PLU.

Next Meeting: May 2, 1:45-3:30 pm in the President’s Conference Room.
