Committee sends notice of deadline for nominations for promotion to full professor to all faculty.

1st business day of November

December 3

(Monday)

Deadline for nominations for promotion to full professor.   Committee informs candidates and their chairs/deans; candidates may decline

1st business day of December

December 10

(Monday)

Committee meets with candidate (and separately with their chairs/deans) to clarify procedures.

6th business day of December

December 10

(Monday)

Committee receives names of referees from candidates.

2nd Monday of December

December 12

(Wednesday)

All PLU faculty are sent the list of candidates for promotion to full professor

2 following business days

December 13

(Thursday)

Committee requests recommendations from the candidate’s department/school

colleagues and from candidate’s on-campus referees.

3 following business days

December 17

(Monday)

Committee requests recommendations from off-campus referees.

2nd Monday before Christmas

February 1, 2008

(Friday)

Deadline for promotion file to be complete.

First Friday of February

Deadline for receipt of promotion recommendations.

Committee begins deliberations on each case.

Committee completes deliberations and confers with provost.

Committee reports its recommendations to the president, candidates, and their chairs and deans.

Committee considers appeals, if any

Committee meets with president to discuss its recommendations, after considering all appeals.
