Clarification of 2005-06 PLU Catalog
- GUR CLARIFICATION:
- Religion General University Requirement: Entering students are required to take a total of eight hours (only
four hours allowed per area) in Religious Studies from either Biblical
Studies (R1), Christian Thought, History and Experience (R2) or
Integrative and Comparative Religious Studies (R3).
Transfer students entering as juniors or seniors are required to take
four semester hours of religion from Biblical Studies (R1) or Christian
Thought, History and Experience (R2) unless presenting eight
transfer hours of religion from other regionally accreditied colleges
or universities. Integrative and Comparative Religious Studies (R3)
courses do not fulfill the general education requirement for Religious
Studies if transferring into PLU with a junior or senior standing. (Page 7 and Page 8)
- PAGE 134: Religion CORE I Requirement: The Core I
requirement in Religious Studies (eight semester hours) specifies that
four semester hours must be taken from each of two lines, as follows:
- Biblical Studies (R1) - RELI 221, 212, 330, 331, 332
- Christian Thought, History and Experience (R2) - RELI 121, 221, 222, 223, 224, 225, 226, 227, 360, 361, 362, 364, 365, 367, 368
- Integrative and Comparative Religious Studies (R3) - RELI 131, 132, 230, 231, 232, 233, 234, 235, 237, 239, 390, 391, 392, 393
ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS TO PLU are located on page 179.
- ARTD 492: Design: Workshop - Carries 2 or 4 credits. (Page 39)
- CHEM 120: General Chemistry: Corequisites are MATH 140 or math placement in a course higher than MATH 140. (Page 50)
- CHSP 271 (China Through Film) is correctly listed in the class schedule as CHIN 271 (China Through Film). (Page 52)
- CHSP 350 (Chinese Culture and Society - C) does not carry Cross cultural GUR until Spring 2006.
- CSCE 120: Computerized Information Systems - NS
Prerequisites are MATH 128 or MATH 140 or equivalent.
- COMA 329: Depth Reporting carries four credit hours. (Page 58)
- EPSY 555: Practicum - Prerequisites are EPSY 550 and EPSY 561. (Page 159)
