Communication is key to any relationship. This is where Senator Relfe personally communicates to you, her constituents, what she has been up to and needs you to know.

Dear Constituents,

I can’t tell you how honored I feel to have had the privilege of serving you these past two years. I have tremendously enjoyed getting to meet and know many of you at transfer day and similar events.  I have always had a great respect for the responsibility that comes with representing your voice, and have thoroughly enjoyed doing my best to make your voice heard. As your representative I have worked with incredibly talented faculty and students in making this campus better than ever.

I’ve worked with Erin McGinnis in Dining Services to not only inform you of meal plan changes but also to voice your concerns over such changes, be it with the food selection and cost, or tray issues. I have met with Laura Majovski (VP for Student Life and Dean of Students) on several issues, one of the most memorable being my work in understanding the revised Advertising Policy.

I have also been consistent in my goals these past two years in regards to replacing the tablet chairs and remodeling the library. While, all tablet chairs have unfortunately not been replaced and the library has not yet been remodeled, progress is being made. The Institutional Resources Committee, is working hard to replace the tablet chairs with more appropriate seating one classroom at a time, and Chris Ferguson and Fran Lane Rasmus have been working with the Off-Campus Caucus in researching options for extended study hours.

I believe it is safe to say that no campus is perfect, but as a student senator you have the opportunity to recognize a problem and work with faculty and students to bring forth a solution, which is an incredibly rewarding experience and I encourage anyone of you who has the desire to make real change happen on campus to run for office.

I can’t tell you how touched I have been by your support over these past two years. My involvement within ASPLU, not only as your Transfer Senator but also as the Off-Campus Caucus leader, has been incredibly rewarding, however, due to pressing family obligations, my time as your representative has come to an end. I have never taken for granted, and have always been incredibly thankful for, the gift you have given me by electing me as your representative.

Thank you for everything,

Riley S. Relfe
