The basic rule of thumb is this: if it runs Windows 98 or greater then it is acceptable.
If your Mac runs Mac OS 7.5 or greater then it is acceptable.
Systems operating below the specifications in the section
entitled “Purchase Recommendations” will access the network
considerably slower than systems meeting or exceeding the purchase
recommendations.
Every computer on ResNet must have an Ethernet card and cable. Ethernet cables come in various lengths and are available
in the bookstore. Contact the PLU bookstore for University supported
card and purchase information.
An antivirus program is required to gain access to the PLU network. The program must be installed and updated regularly for it to effectively protect your machine. If you don't have an antivirus program installed already, PLU provides a free program that is available for download at www.plu.edu/antivirus. This link will also be made available to you at the end of the registration process.
