2008-2009 Continuing Student
Housing Options & Dates

getting-side

Three options are available to continuing PLU students for 2008 - 2009.  This process is for students who are currently or have been previously enrolled as a PLU student..

The three options are:
1. South Hall
2. Traditional Halls (all halls but South Hall)
3. Off-Campus

Each of the options listed below contain a variety of choices to consider.  This web page includes information about process time lines and deadlines, eligibility requirements, and answers to some of the most commonly asked questions.

South Hall

South Hall

South Hall is PLU's only non-traditional, apartment-style, residence hall option available to students.   Limited married-student housing is available in South Hall.  At this time, unfortunately at this time, family-student housing is not an available option.

Off-Campus

Rainier Winter

Residential Life has a binder of local off-campus housing options, which students are welcome to stop by and look through and take notes.  The Office of Residential Life is located in University Center 161, and is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  The binder is updated regularly, as listings are submitted to the office.

Choosing where to live is a big decision and should not be made lightly.  The Residential Life Office has put together a comparison sheet for students to consider when deciding whether to live off-campus is the right decision for him/her.

PLU's Residency Requirement

Pacific Lutheran University requires that all single, full-time students live in university housing unless they:

-- are living at home with parent, legal guardian, spouse or child.

-- are 20 years of age or older on or before September 1 to be exempt for the academic year, or on or before February 1 to be exempt for the spring semester.

-- have achieved junior status (completed 60 semester hours) prior to the beginning of fall semester to be exempt for the academic year or prior to spring semester to be exempt for the spring semester.
