Alcoholic Beverages: The use or possession of alcoholic beverages is prohibited on campus and in the residence halls. Empty alcohol containers and brewing equipment are similarly prohibited. Furnishings and Responsibility for Institutional Property: University furnishings may not be removed from the students rooms nor moved from one room to another nor one hall to another. Guests: Guests may stay no more than: four consecutive nights, any four nights out of seven, or any eight nights out of thirty. Guests must abide by all university policies and the hosting PLU student(s) is responsible for their guests behavior. Hall Dues: Each Residence Hall Council (RHC) charges voluntary hall dues which are paid by students in the hall at the beginning of the year. Students who have paid dues may use items owned by the hall council (recreational equipment, cooking utensils, VCRs/DVD's, etc.) and attend activities provided by their hall council. Keys: Keys are issued upon check-in at no charge and must be returned whenever the student’s housing contract is terminated or a change of rooms takes place. Lost keys must be reported to hall staff who will submit a service request to replace the key(s). A fee will be assessed for re-coring the room door lock and/or replacing lost keys. Personal Property: The University will make every reasonable effort to protect the personal property of residents, but will not be liable for articles lost, stolen, or damaged by fire, water, hear and/or other natural disasters. When storing goods in University space, students assume the risk of loss or damage. Room Alterations: Occupants are not permitted to paint, apply contact or wall paper, alter or remodel any student room or public area in the residence hall without approval from the Director of Residential Life or his/her representative. Roommates: Residential Life will not knowingly pair individuals with an intimate relationship as roommates. If at any time Residential Life becomes aware of a pairing of roommates with an intimate relationship, action will be taken to reassign one or both of the roommates. Visitation Policy: Between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 a.m. visitation if unrestricted by the University, but is contingent upon mutual agreement between roommates. Between 2:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m. visitation is restricted to persons of the same gender. Visitation in Kreidler Hall and South Hall will not be restricted. Residents of all halls will abide by the University’s Guest Policy.
