WELCOME TO STUEN! Hi, I'm Derek Zoolander. Welcome to
the world of the World Wide Internet! I've recently grown quite fond of the
Internet...there are so many pictures of myself! My friend Meekus used to tell
me about the Internet before the tragic gasoline fight, so I see this as a
fitting tribute to him, and to all male models who have gone before me. Anyway, this page
is a portal to anything you could possibly want to know. It's true! I'm even
working on a site to help the average non-male model on the street become
really, really ridiculously good looking! But until then, feel free to
check out the links below my face (P.S. Can you tell if that is
"Ferrari" or "Blue Steel?"), check out RHC Meeting Minutes,
or even see if you can borrow the film Zoolander, a biography about my
life! I'd love to chat
more, but I must attend to the Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can't Read
Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too. Have a good year!

This Website is Pro-Maddox. News Update - October 15, 2007Hello friends. Sorry about the lack of updatehood...my computer has gone through various personality changes during the last week or so, finally decided that it is indeed a woman. I've supported its decision, and hopefully by next fall the operations will be done. I've created and updated Ole's Faves within the Fun Stuff page, which mean there is even more random stuff available to you now. And now, some news from RHC:There is no news from RHC, as I did not receive minutes from the last meeting. Thank you, RHC. I should be taking down all of the homecoming dates from the events page later this week, so if you've any events you want to have publicized, just drop me a line. On a final note, keep filling that jar on the front desk...keep Thomas in pink! -H.R.H. Jeff Rud News Update - October 2, 2007Hola. Good news...as the council meeting Sunday lasted but an intense twenty minutes, I shan't be boring you with RHC minutes this week! And on top of that, Thursday I'm officially launching Ole's Faves, a section of the page devoted to Ole Stuen's favourite quotes, pictures, videos, and whatever else I decide (by means of casting a six-sided die, or none at all) that he likes! How cool is that? Okay, not very cool...but sorta cool? That will work. And while we're on the topic of sorta cool things, I can say with conviction that we have the most relevant, the most recent, and the most ridiculously good looking Website out of the residence hall community here at Pacific Lutheran University. To prove this, I've prepared something called statistics. South Hall: Last updated in 2006. Tingelstad Hall: Last updated in 2005. Pflueger Hall: Last updated in 2004. Foss Hall: Doesn't even exist (Who needs a Website when you have the gym?). Harstad Hall: Last updated in 2004. Hinderlie Hall: Last updated in 2007, though it was last semester so we still win. Hong Hall: No real Website, just quite a bit of descriptive stuff straight from PLU staff. Kriedler Hall: Same situation as Hong. Ordal Hall: Last updated before J-Term '07. So, there's that. Be on the lookout for a rather thick issue of the STIG in the upcoming days, outlining the events of Homecoming Week and such. Oh, by the way, Brock Bennett WOULD have won a 300-related item in my SMDB contest, BUT I realized that I hadn't removed Diane (who moved to Tingelstad) and Emily (who moved to Hong) from the directory, so I took more submissions and as of yesterday evening, David Bruer is the winner. Senor David, I will have you a 300-related item by the end of the week. And if you guys want more free stuff, submit to the SMDB and use it. Until then, I'll be looking for a paying job. -H.R.H. Jeff Rud News Update - September 28, 2007Well, uEdit sucks and decided that this page needed a makeover...a crappy one. Rather than having to painstakingly rebuild it, we're rolling with the new layout. So, how have you been? Really? That's too bad. I've a delicious new set of RHC minutes, new and improved events (well, not necessarily improved...it's up to the rest of you to improve them as you see fit), and more films have been added to the SMDB courtesy of Svea and Kirsta. By the way, we are two away from the 300 mark, and there may be a 300-related free gift for the person who will get us past that goal... And for those of you who don't want to read the minutes or look at the events, here's the bit on the hall retreat: put your sleeping bag back in your closet for a while. We're digging for a venue as of Sunday evening, and most of them are booked full through the winter. For those of you who paid dues planning on going but will face conflicts on the actual date of the retreat, you will be refunded the portion of your dues alotted to the retreat (parts of your dues also go towards a general hall fund, the sweatshirts, the t-shirts, my salary [yeah right], etc.). Just drop by Justin Seppi's room in Third North and he'll give you the hook-up. Hope you're all having fun keeping Bungie in the black for the next decade or so..."Finish the fight" indeed. -H.R.H. Jeff Rud News Update - September 19, 2007Sorry about the not-updating-the-site-on-Sundayness. I took a little foray into downtown Seattle on Saturday, followed by a trip to Aberdeen (what a city!...) and a taste of some of the local cuisine at a place called "Taco Bell." Anyway, this means I didn't do a lick of schoolwork on Saturday and caught up Sunday and Monday. New minutes are posted from Sunday's RHC meeting, the events page has been updated based on what I've found in the STIG (which is new, if you haven't had a gander at it yet), and fun stuff has been added to Fun Stuff. Also, as a friendly reminder from our favourite treasurer, Justin Seppi: "TURN
IN YOUR HALL DUES BY SEPTEMBER 24th Any
questions about that? No? Good. I'm also considering adding a Quote of the
Week/Picture of the Week section to this site, so any input of outrageous
photographs or quotes
from Cori Jo would be appreciated. XD
The Special Events page
has been updated, based upon information taken from last night's minutes. RHC
members (and for that matter, anybody else) wishing to have a party or outing
of some sort posted herein may speak to me in person or send me an e-mail. Back
to my alfredo and Pepsi. News Update - September 9, 2007Crap, that was two hours I will
never get back. The good news is, all of Svea's films are now available
throught the Stuen Movie Database,
bringing the total up to 266! That's good, but I'd like to see it get past the
300 mark...maybe whoever submits the 300th film or game to the list will get a
MYSTERIOUS FREE ITEM from their favourite Webmaster! Or not. Who knows? Anyway,
the minutes from this
week's RHC meeting are up as well, and I'd encourage everybody (even if you
aren't a flaky RHC member who just reads the minutes and skips to meetings) to
check them out, because we are making decisions about where Stuen's money goes.
If you don't think we should, for instance, be planning a Tye-Dye Party in the
future, let one of us know so we can bring it up in a meeting. We're small
enough as a residence hall that even 10-15 people can wield quite a bit of
political clout. But, that's all rather heady, and the rest of this page is
just one big joke...thanks to me! Hopefully I will really finish my work in
here by the end of the week. Until then, start hitting up Svea for Mulan and Mulan 2! News Update - September 7, 2007I've officially updated the RHC Officers List
for 2007-2008, and hopefully by the next meeting I will have successfully
updated every link, every sentence, every question mark on this Website to my
liking. The SMDB also has a slew of new titles thanks to Cori Jo, and hopefully
we can get even more up. So, be on the lookout for Dadaist humor and references
to obscure events in history throughout the page! News Update - September 4, 2007Hello folks! My name is Jeff, and it seems that the lot of Webmaster of Stuen Hall has fallen to me. I'm fresh off the boat (Or I guess fresh out of the 1990 Cadillac Sedan DeVille [4.5L Port Injection V8] to be specific) from West Texas, and I bring with me almost no experience with such things as Webmasterism, so if things look or seem wrong on here be sure to grab me in the hall and scream at me until you are blue in the face! I've updated the SMDB based upon information given to me by Mac Sample, and I've decided to start posting video games within it as well, so send what you would like to share with the hall to me in an email, using the link provided below. I'm also a Freshman, so everything is going to seem new and tad bit overwhelming for a while, but I'll catch on quick enough. I'll have the minutes up from Sunday's RHC meeting soon enough...until then, hope your first days of the school year haven't sucked that much! Peace. |
