The Volunteer Center, run by two student co-directors, works to connect PLU with the community, as well as, plan all-campus events. With hundreds agencies on file, the Volunteer Center provides information about specific volunteer opportunities for students, faculty, and staff. Conversely, the agencies on file repeatedly seek PLU volunteers through the Volunteer Center. The Volunteer Center is an integral part of the Center for Public Service. To find out other opportunities available to students, check out the Center for Public Service website!

Mission Statement

As demonstrated by the PLU mission statement, "Educating for Lives of Thoughtful Inquiry, Leadership, Service, and Care," service is a key part of Pacific Lutheran University's goal. Taking this to heart, many professors are beginning to incorporate service learning in their curriculum. This allows students to experience the world through service and connect it to their academic studies. Aside from class requirements, however, many students seek volunteering opportunities on a personal basis simply to enhance their lives and the lives of others.
