Scholarship Opportunity for J-Term 2009

PLU is excited to continue the newly created J-Term Scholarship Program, with the purpose of opening the door to study away experiences for qualified students with demonstrated financial need. This program provides scholarships for up to twelve students in the amount of $1,000 each. Awards will not impact Financial Aid awards for fall or spring semesters. Funds must be used towards the price of PLU J-term study away programs in January 2009. To be considered, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher; completed their first full academic year at PLU by J-term 2009, demonstrate financial need as defined by FAFSA, be in good standing (financial, academic, student conduct), and submit an application and short essay. Sojourner Advocate Student Leadership Position

Eligibility:
This position is open to students who will be of junior or senior standing during the 2008-2009 school year. Applicants must have completed a semester abroad during their tenure at Pacific Lutheran University. Students must also be able to commit to a full academic year (J-Term does not apply), and work approximately 10 hours a week. Successful applicants will also be in good standing.
Application Process:
To apply, please e-mail a current resumé and cover letter to sojourn@plu.edu and send two letters of recommendation (one faculty & one personal) to the Wang Center, Attn: Sojourner Advocates. All application contents are due by Friday, April 4th, 2008.
Shortly after April 4th, applicants will be contacted by current Sojourner Advocates to schedule an interview.
