You're In!
If you have been admitted to PLU – congratulations! We think that you’ll find that PLU is a unique place that will challenge you as a student, support you as a person, and prepare you for a lifetime of success.
Before you can fully participate in all that PLU has to offer, there are several steps every admitted student needs to take. The checklist below is a great place to start. But remember, you can always call your admission counselor at 800-274-6758 if you have questions.
Visit Campus
If you have not yet visited campus, we recommend you do so – it is one of the most important things you will do during your college search. It is a great way to help figure out if PLU will be the right fit for you. During your visit, you can meet with an admission counselor, take a tour with a student – even meet a coach or a professor. To schedule your visit go to www.plu.edu/visit.
Also, all admitted students will be invited to Passport Weekend, which takes place April 13-14, 2012. Passport Weekend is a great time to visit campus and to meet other students who, like you, have also been admitted to PLU.
Review your Financial Aid package
2012-13 PLU Financial Aid offers began mailing in mid-February. If you have not yet, we encourage you to submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to ensure optimal financial aid awarding. The FAFSA is free, and it is the best way to see how much it will cost to attend PLU. (Note: When filling out the FAFSA form, remember that PLU’s FAFSA school code is 003785).
2012-2013 Direct Costs
Tuition: $32,800
Room & Meals: $9,620
Total: $42,420
Once you have received your Offer of Financial Aid, be sure to review it with your PLU Admission Counselor, who is happy to either schedule an over-the-phone or face-to-face meeting with you and your family to answer questions regarding scholarships, grants, loans, work study, and payment options.
Understanding Your Financial Aid Offer is also a great resource, and the PLU Cost Estimator Sheet a helpful tool to calculate owing balances using your own financial aid information and the PLU Cost Information Sheet.
Be a Lute! Pay your Advance Tuition Payment.
Once you have been admitted to PLU, you may pay your $200 Advance Tuition Payment to join the entering class of Fall 2012, secure your housing assignment, and prepare for class registration.
To secure your spot at PLU, please send your Advance Tuition Payment along with your New Student Information Form and the housing form that you received with your admission packet to the Office of Admission. You may also pay the Advance Tuition Payment and complete the housing form online at www.plu.edu/BeALute. If your Advance Tuition Payment has already been paid, but you still need to request your housing, you can complete the online housing form at www.plu.edu/applyreslife.
First-year class registration for Fall 2012 will begin in the summer, with our annual “Charting Your Course” event June 7, 8, 11, 12, and 13. You may request a class registration time online beginning Monday, April 2, 2012, after paying your Advance Tuition Payment and requesting your PLU ePass. Please refer to your First Year Guidebook (mailed out April 2nd) for further information regarding preparation for registration.
